UPDATE: The congress will be postponed and new dates will be announced soon!

Dear Colleagues,

It is a great pleasure to cordially invite you to participate in the 32nd European Congress of Arachnology, which will be held in Greifswald, Germany.

Greifswald was part of the Hanseatic League in the 14th century. The University of Greifswald is one of the oldest universities in Germany (founded in 1456), and it is the smallest city in Germany that is home to a university with all classical disciplines (theology, medicine, law, humanities and natural sciences). Zoological research has been performed here for nearly 200 years and research on Arachnids for almost 25 years - starting with the late Gerd Alberti.

The conference venue is a newly built lecture hall complex in the city center of Greifswald. There are several hotels and B&Bs within walking distance, or you can rent a bike for a morning ride to the congress venue. Please consider booking your accommodation early, as Greifswald is popular among tourists and competition for sleeping sites during this time of the year is likely!

The main program of the meeting includes four plenary lectures ranging from cognition to functional morphology while spanning several groups of arachnids. Apart from regular oral presentations and posters that will be presented in topical sessions, we also call for symposia to stimulate discussions on emerging or neglected ideas or fields.

As to outdoor activities, we are planning mid-congress excursions to some of the  picturesque places around Greifswald and a longer post-congress excursion that will take us to charming places in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.  The Baltic Sea, the many lakes, the islands of Rügen and Usedom in combination with the sparsely populated region make the area highly diverse and attractive for those who like to explore nature.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Greifswald in 2021.
