BAS Ted Locket Grants

Applications are invited from members of the British Arachnological Society for grants to assist with travel and other expenses relating to attendance at recognised conferences or participation in a recognised training event within the UK and relating to UK species. Normally Grants would be in the region of £100-£500.

The applicant should supply: details of the conference, a breakdown of costs, a very brief outline of the relevance of the conference to their work, and how this will benefit the Society (the latter can include submission of an article to the Society’s Newsletter or a paper to Arachnology). Preference will be given to applicants who intend to present a poster or talk. Applications for travel outside the UK will be considered on the merits of the case presented.

For attendance at a training event, the applicant should supply: details of the event including the expected outcome, a breakdown of costs, a brief outline of their background and arachnological intentions, and how the knowledge gained will be applied to the benefit of the Society.

Applications for a Ted Locket grant should be made to the Honorary Secretary before 1st of April: secretarybritishspiders.orguk.

Mind that in order to apply you need to be a member of the society or become one. The annual fee is £23 and the membership application website is: http://britishspiders.org.uk/wiki2015/index.php?title=Join_the_Society
